Hello.
My name is Sara elizabeth Jordan Pickett.

I am a writer, researcher, and strategist who creates solutions before you have even noticed the problem. As a language lover and lifelong learner, I am perpetually refining my skills and expanding my talents, while feeding my insatiable curiosity and nurturing my perpetual wonder at the world around me.
I am a passionate storyteller with a diverse portfolio of editing and writing projects. My superior critical thinking, analytical, and research skills strengthen my impressive command of language and allow me to back up my ideas with facts and proof. You will hire me for my way with words and then rely on me to solve your math problems and clean up your code. I am an organized and efficient project manager who continually plans one step ahead, yet remains agile to respond to current situations. I value fairness and fair play, honesty and integrity, kindness and community, accountability and transparency, doing good and doing well. Plus, I am a quick wit who loves a hearty laugh, particularly if puns are involved. I am an enthusiastic self-starter and a fast learner who thrives in fast-paced and multi-faceted environments and who is driven to exceed all expectations. I am an adaptable and dependable colleague who develops teams with a positive attitude and respectful motivational style. My goal is to make us all look good. I am an INTJ and a Sagittarius and a former Girl Scout (#1 cookie seller in my region in the 3rd grade). I root for the underdog and try to shine my light in all the dark places I see. I collect stories (nonfiction and fiction), friendships (being kind is cool), and fun facts (no explanation needed). I gravitate towards nerds, weirdos, and dorks — people courageous enough to be passionate and brave enough to act. I was born two months prematurely and proudly grew up on the plains of Kansas. My house burnt to the ground while I worked on a Ph.D. in Oklahoma, and I lost over 1,000 books. While the fire meant I could not finish a doctorate in literature, it also meant I got a second chance to achieve my goals. I moved to Chicago without having set foot in the city or knowing anyone in the state of Illinois. I met my husband 1 month, 1 week, 1 day later. Our wedding ceremony is some of my best writing. To celebrate our third anniversary, we traded one extreme weather system for another and moved to Austin. Seeking more balance, we moved to the middle and arrived in KCKS in the spring of 2020. Over the years, we have added Jasper Pax Jordan Pickett (JP2), a certified Good Boy® and the best darn cocker spaniel you'll ever meet, and Onyx Apollo, pure curiosity and intelligence in chaotic neutral form, to our dream team. (No more for now; we need to reserve the ability to play man-to-man defense.) I am excited to work with you and eager to get started. Send me a note to make that happen. Want more insight on what it is like to work with me? Read some incredibly kind (and unpaid) reviews from my colleagues and peers. |
