Marketing is more than product puns and puppy pictures.
(Unfortunately. Those are two of my favorite things and that would be the best job ever.)
Marketing is not just clever words and captivating images - it is the human connections that happen because of and through those words and images. Marketing requires creative writing and data analysis, large-scale organization and pinpointed segmentation, well-researched forecasts and in-moment responsiveness. Marketing requires knowledge of the framework - the business, brand, industry - and understanding of the goal - how and why success will be measured. Marketing requires a versatile thinker and a comprehensive doer. Luckily, these are more of my favorite things, so I clearly have the best job (even if I wish more puppy pictures were involved). (There could never be enough puppy pictures.) |
